ULTRAPURGE PM Purge Module
Applications
The ULTRAPURGE Purge Module (PM) from ULTRATECH provides a process seal to keep out hazardous and corrosive gases. The purge module can also be used to prevent plugging of sensing ports in airflow measuring stations. It is compatible with the EDPT, differential pressure gauges, and most transmitters with a zero adjustment.
Description
The ULTRAPURGE PM prevents materials and gases from migrating to the transmitter or meter by supplying a continuous air purge through the high and low ports of the airflow measuring station or static pressure measuring station. This device is available loose for installation in an enclosure or as an integral part of the EDPT. Special consideration must be used when selecting the tubing size because of the resistance the purge produces. Please use the following chart. If you need more information, please contact ULTRATECH.

To connect the purge:
- Connect the transmitter HIGH and LOW to the Airflow Measuring Station.
- Make certain these lines are clear of any unnecessary restriction.
- Open the valve in the air supply line to the transmitter panel.
- Adjust the pressure regulator to read 20 psi on the gauge.
- Lock the regulator adjustment knob.
- Adjust ZERO on the transmitter such that output reads O VDC (4 mADC) with no airflow. The ZERO adjustment is recommended on all transmitters when first mounted, but is especially necessary when the purge is installed for compensation of the back pressure created by the purge.
