Applications
The ULTRAC Single Point Pressure Sensor (SPT) provides a reliable,repeatable signal of static pressure in air ducts and pipes. These are used with pressure transmitters or indicating gauges for measurement and control purposes.
The SPT Sensors offer an alternate means of static pressure sensing at a reduced cost. Performance is not equal to the ULTRAC Pressure Metering Station, but the SPT Sensor does produce satisfactory sensing in many applications. Installation is simple, even on retrofit of existing piping, and performance is considerably better than that of a simple duct-wall tap, which is greatly affected by wall effect.
Description
ULTRAC SPT Sensors are constructed of tubing and sized to fit most duct or pipe dimensions. They provide optimum, disturbance-free static pressure measurements. The sensing ports are positioned 90° apart, at a 90° angle to the flow direction. The ball-formed nose provides excellent stream penetration at the exclusion of sensor-induced disturbances.
The sensors are available in stainless/brass or all stainless steel. Plate mounts or tubing bulkhead connectors are available. Sheet metal screws are sufficient for pressures up to 3.0 in w.c. Through-the-wall screws and nuts are recommended for higher pressure applications that require plate mounts. Bulkhead fittings are excellent for high pressures (up to 500 psig).
